Face Lift

When I got out my fall and Halloween Decorations I was excited to decorate yet not to excited when I started looking at them.  Some of them are new last year but most of them are 10-15 years old,  Yuck.   Then I had and idea and loved it.  I can update them with vinyl.  Ta Da!   I love the outcome.   I took a bunch of random fall things and put in a basket.  I even put in an old picture frame.  (I copied the picture frame idea from someone else I just don't know who to give the credit to)   Then I took the pumpkin which is actually a jack-o-lantern that I turned around and  put a vinyl grateful on it.   The pumpkins we tole painted (yes just the word dates my deco)  I did a fun Give Thanks.  I love the results so, if you need a face lift on your Holiday decorations it is an inexpensive way to update old things.  

A Ribbon Party

I love scrap booking it is a hobby I wish I had more time for.   One of the fun techniques that I wish I did more of is called a ribbon party.  I have a friend who is great at using ribbons for my birthday she gave me a calendar and on the top was a ribbon party.  So as I started decorating my office I had the idea to create this same idea on my window valance.   Another creative friend that loves to decorate, stripped the fabric, then we tied fabric, ribbon, and raffia to the my valance.  I love it.  The vinyl saying finished it off.   I Love the start to my office so be looking for the rest of the results.  

Falling for Fall

So it is that time of year again when all of the colors are vibrant and beautiful.  I love this time of year.  I love the Harvest, the changing leaves, the changing temperature,  and decorating.   I went to visit one of my very creative friends who already has her fall stuff out and had to take a picture.  This is a vinyl we did a few years ago and she just added it to her pumpkin display.  I love it with the arrangement.   Now I need to get my decor out!.  Here's to fall and the beauty it offers.   

Monograms (brands)

So monograms are in.  At our house we have our own monogram (a brand) I was just going to do a really cool W but I thought this one would get better results. I was right it is a D and a Backwards L for Dan and Lisa.  I added Dan's favorite saying and motto.  "Life is Good"  for anyone who knows Grandma Zella this was her famous saying as well.  A good one to live by.  

Look forward to more ideas.  I have a cute babies room (NOT MINE) and I am working on my office by Christmas if I am lucky.  lol

poka dots & flowers are in

So I have this bug that I have had a hard time finding.  It is the decorating bug.  This time it might take a while because I am organizing along with decorating.  I need some order in my life.  Since moving into my house a year ago the only room we have tackled is my 3 year old daughters when we moved in it was purple.  She refused to sleep in it.  So I let her pick some fabric and we made her a guilt thanks Grandma then we painted.  She has been telling me for a few months she wanted vinyl flowers and polka dots so we finally got them on  the wall.  she did it.  I held her up and she placed them.  I think she did pretty good for 3 and she loves her room.  This past weekend I went to the Toole Parade of Homes with my mom, sister, and daughter.  Guess what we saw?   yep flowers and polka dots are the in thing.  Way to go Kaci you are right in style.  Her favorite room was black and pink.   Really cute!!! Her room is Green, Pink, and Brown but notice the flowers are the same.
